Structured Packing - Metal, Plastic and Ceramic Types

SP-01: Structured packing has high separating efficiency.
The structured packing is made of several packings with different geometrical shape and corrugation angle. According to different corrugation angle, it can be divided into X type and Y type. The X type stands for the 30° angle, and the Y type stands for the 45° angle. X type structured packing has small pressure drop and the Y type structured packing has better mass transfer property.
The structured packing can be divided into metal structured packing, ceramic structured packing and plastic structured packing.
Metal Structured Packing
Metal structured packing can be made of various metal materials, such as low carbon steel, stainless steel, Monel, Ti and others. The stainless steel structured packing is the most widely used because of the excellent corrosion and rust resistance and durable properties. Metal structured packing has different packing types, which can be divided into wire gauze structured packing and perforated plate structured packing.
Wire gauze structured packing
Wire gauze structured packing is made of various metal wires, such as stainless steel wire, monel wire, copper wire and then woven into wire gauze. Wire gauze structured packing has low pressure drop, high separating efficiency, it is the most widely used type among all metal structured packing. It is suitable for precise distillation and vacuum distillation devices.
Perforated plate structured packing
Perforated plate structured packing is made of various materials of metal plate. The plate are perforated to form a series of 5 mm holes and then corrugated. This design make the liquid evenly distributed. Additional, it can the improve the surface wettability of structured packing. The perforated plate structured packing has high strength and excellent corrosion and rust resistance performance to be used in the large diameter towers and high liquid loading applications.
There is a special perforated plate structured packing, which is named as protruded plate structured packing. The plate are protruded on the plate surface for improve the filtering efficiency.

Ceramic Structured Packing
Ceramic structured packing consists of many similar geometric design packing units. The geometric design is a series of corrugated sheets, which are placed in parallel. Ceramic structured packing has high filtering and separating efficiency to suit the complex applications. It also has low pressure drop, increased operating elasticity, minimum amplifying effect and maximum liquid treatment. Ceramic structured packing can be made into round or rectangular shape to suit different applications.

SP-06: Rectangular shape ceramic structured packing.

Plastic Structured Packing
Plastic structured packing can be divided into wire gauze packing and plate packing. The wire gauze packing is made of PP and PE materials and the plate packing is made of PP or PVDF materials. Openings can be added onto the plate to improve the mass transfer efficiency. Similar to the ceramic structure packing and metal structured packing, the plastic structured packing can also be made into round or rectangular shapes. Special shapes can be customized.
